Ahh...fresh meat! The Butcher's voice echoes in our minds following the Diablo 4 Open Beta, and at launch, many more players will get slain by this secret boss.
This guide explains how you can find and beat The Butcher in Diablo 4, alongside what tasty loot drops this rare boss might hold, so let's put down our cleavers and get started.

Diablo 4 The Butcher Location: How To Find
As the first boss in the original Diablo, The Butcher is an iconic monster; but unlike the original game, The Butcher is not easy to find in Diablo 4.
If you are looking for the exact location of The Butcher in Diablo 4, then we've got some bad news to share. The Butcher is a completely random, rare spawn in any of the 23 side dungeons. He can also spawn in any room except for boss rooms.
The best way to find The Butcher would be to keep grinding dungeons, preferably with a party.
Please note:The Butcher also despawns if the player is killed or if you take too long to slay him.
How To Beat Diablo 4's The Butcher Boss
The Butcher, no matter your level in Diablo 4, features a tonne of damage and health, much more so than other bosses you will face. The first step in beating The Butcher boss is to avoid his meathook at all costs and dodge any charges. Always keep a distance (poor Barbarians!) and open up with all your cooldowns.
One little trick is to run out of the room where The Butcher spawns. Sometimes, the boss will get stuck at the door if you kite it and glitch out, unable to attack the player. That's one way to defeat it if Blizzard doesn't patch out this exploit soon.

What Loot Does The Butcher Drop in Diablo 4 Open Beta?
From all the info we've gathered thus far, The Butcher will drop at least one or two Legendary items for everyone killing it. It is unclear if The Butcher's loot pool has an increased Legendary drop rate.
Furthermore, The Butcher can drop a Unique item in Diablo 4 called The Butcher's Cleaver. This is an Axe weapon for Barbarians, which is incredibly powerful with its Lucky Hit power having a 100% chance to Fear and Slow (70%) enemies for four (4) seconds!
