Hailey couple arrested with 4 lbs of cocaine, 19 guns

On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) deputies of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Hailey, Idaho, the home of Kerry and Karen Christiansen.

The search yielded over four pounds of cocaine, approximately $302,000 in U.S. currency, a total of nineteen rifles and handguns, and multiple boxes of ammunition.

Kerry Jay Christiansen, age 61 of Hailey, Idaho has been charged with five felony counts: two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, I.C. 37-2732(C)1, Trafficking in Cocaine, I.C. 37-2732B, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, I.C. 18-3316, and Introduction of Major Contraband into a Correctional Facility, I.C. 18-2510(4)C.

Karen Harrison Christiansen, age 65 of Hailey, Idaho has been charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, I.C. 37-2732(C)1.

Both defendants are in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment today in Magistrate Court.
