Fires in Lahaina, Upcountry and Pulehu have been forcing evacuations and closures of roads, schools and local facilities. Here’s a list of organizations and agencies that have announced new closures, postponements or cancellations due to the fires:

GOVERNMENT/PUBLIC FACILITIES

• All public schools on Maui with the exception of Hana High & Elementary will be closed to students and staff through Friday, the state Department of Education said Wednesday afternoon. The DOE’s Maui District Office and Puunene School offices also remain closed.

• UH-Maui’s Kahului campus remains closed today. Molokai and Lanai education centers reopen today

• The Lahaina Main Post Office at 1760 Honoapiilani Highway and the Lahaina Downtown Post Office at 132 Papalaua St. have been closed. Mail service for customers of these offices will be relocated to nearby USPS facilities as soon as all Maui postal facilities have been assessed and transportation routes are open. An announcement of the alternate service locations will be made as soon as that information is available.

• The Lahaina Courthouse will be closed today and Friday. All documents due to have been filed today or Friday will be deemed timely if filed by end of business on Monday, the state Judiciary said. All trials or hearings canceled due the closures will be rescheduled.

• The Maui County Salary Commission meeting for Friday has been canceled.

• Haleakala National Park’s Summit District remained closed to visitors Wednesday due to high winds and wildfires located outside the park. The Kipahulu District of the park closed at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Both districts of the park will remain closed until further notice. Camping reservations for Hosmer Grove, backcountry tent camping and cabins, and Kipahulu campground for Wednesday and today are canceled. Sunrise reservations for today are canceled. Haleakala National Park will reopen once conditions improve. Any changes in the park’s status will be posted at www.nps.gov/hale.

BANKS

• Bank of Hawai’i has temporarily closed its Kihei, Lahaina and Kahana branches. The bank’s Contact Center operations remain open to assist customers at (808) 643-3888. Online and mobile banking and ATM services will continue to operate unless power interruptions are experienced.

• The Hawaii State FCU Kihei Branch at Safeway will be closed until further notice. The ITMs (interactive teller machines) will remain fully operational and accessible 24 hours a day at the Kihei Safeway. Hawaii State FCU’s Kahului Branch and Member Service Call Center will remain open during normal business hours.

NONPROFITS

• Maui Economic Opportunity paratransit and Human Service buses will not be running in West Maui until further notice, MEO said on Wednesday. Buses also will not be operating to and from the west side. For more information, call (808) 877-7651.

• The Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui Clubhouse locations are closed until further notice. Club officials said they are working to determine the best and safest way forward for the organization to serve the community.

• The 26th annual Maui Calls fundraiser scheduled for Saturday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center has been postponed. A new date for a rescheduled event will be announced at a later date via a MACC e-blast and updates will be posted on the MACC website and social media platforms.
