Call of Duty 2023. Inevitable and already confirmed by Activision, it is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest releases of the year. But, what do we actually know right now? Who is developing it? When will you be able to play the game?

This article is your hub of information for this year’s Call of Duty game which will reinvigorate some interest in the franchise and keep it at the top of everyone’s best FPS games lists. The best competitive FPS games have always struggled to top Call of Duty, but with competition this year from Ubisoft’s XDefiant and Embark Studios’ The Finals, Call of Duty 2023 will have to really stand out.

Call of Duty 2023 release date rumors

Call of Duty 2023 is reportedly set to release on Friday, November 10, 2023, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. This comes from a report from Insider Gaming, which also claims that the game is called Modern Warfare 3 and is a direct sequel to MW2.

This is further supported by evidence from the FTC vs Microsoft court hearing in which a Federal Judge seemingly confirmed Call of Duty 2023 would release in November, though no specific date was given. Adding to this, the official Call of Duty Twitter account seemingly acknowledged the information leaked during the court hearing with a very suspicious post.

With that said, this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Activision yet, but we do know a premium Call of Duty game is releasing this Fall that was originally meant to be an expansion of Modern Warfare 2. The switch was highlighted by Jason Schreier, in addition Insider Gaming’s report. So, this does all line up and the release is usually in the late October, or early November time frame for the series.

Who is the Call of Duty 2023 developer?

The Call of Duty 2023 developer is Sledgehammer Games who are picking up the Modern Warfare 2 mantle from Infinity Ward. This has been reiterated by both Inside Gaming and Jason Schreier.

Call of Duty 2023 modes

Call of Duty 2023 will reportedly have three modes. They are campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies. The campaign and multiplayer is similar to what we have seen in previous games in the series, most likely, but the Zombies mode is reportedly Outbreak 2.0 and could be released on its own for free, as stated in the same report above from Insider Gaming.

Outbreak was a part of Black Ops Cold War and offered a large-scale Zombies experience for you to engage with and was refreshing for the series. It isn’t clear if this will come alongside a normal small-scale mode as well yet.

Yes, Call of Duty 2023 will have Warzone integration if the leaks are to be believed as Insider Gaming state that the game will have its own map, Las Almas, launching alongside Season 1. As such, we can expect all your unlocks, COD Points, skins, etc to still be useable when the refresh happens in December, when Season 1 is supposed to launch.
