Early life:

Eustace Robinson Conway IV was born on September 15, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina, U.S. Father Eustace Conway, III, and mother Karen Conway raised him in Columbia, Eustace spent much of his early life with his three siblings: Walton, Judson, and Martha. His father was a chemical engineering professor and an outdoorsman.

As a young kid, Eustace would often accompany his father, on hikes and canoe trips. After graduating high school, Eustace enrolled at Appalachian State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and English. Fed up with the modern way of life, Eustace took to the mountains at just 17 years of age.

Leaving for the woods:

Eustace’s journey in the wilderness began when he was just 12. He left for the mountains and camped there for a week, living off the land. At age 17, Eustace moved outside to live in an Indian Tipi, which became his home for 17 winters. During his time in the Tipi, Eustace completely lived off the land. For years, Eustace wore only homemade buckskin clothes and made and gathered his implements. At 18, Eustace canoed 1,000 miles on the Mississippi River and walked 2000 miles across America on the Appalachian Trail. In the years that followed, Eustace kayaked the entire southern coast of Alaska and also backpacked over 5,000 miles of breathtaking wilderness trails in North America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Eustace has also lived with different native tribes learning more about their culture and way of life.

Embracing the mountain heritage:

Eustace comes from a family of naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts. Both his parents and grandparents were educators. His grandfather Chief Johnson founded Camp Sequoyah in 1924, which is now the backbone of the Turtle Island program. In 1987, Eustace founded the Turtle Island Preserve, an environmental education center. The 1000-acre wildlife preserve near Boone, North Carolina, became Eustace’s base of operations which directs a unique visionary approach to getting people in touch with nature.

Reality TV Career & Mountain Men:

Eustace first came to media attention following his appearances in the 2003 documentary film on Conway’s life, “Full Circle: A Life Story of Eustace Conway.” He was also featured in the 2012 documentary film Reconvergence. However, Conway’s most prominent appearance came in the reality TV series, Mountain Men. The series documents the lifestyle of people like Eustace who choose to live an adventurous life close to the wild of nature. We have  “Houndsman of Ruby Valley” Rich Lewis, who is a great Lion hunter and then we have more subtle Tom Oar who lives off the grid near Yaak River in northwestern Montana. The reality show also features other naturalists and hunters such as  Eustace ConwayMarty Meierotto,  Morgan Beasley, and Jason Hawk.

Eustace made Mountain Men debut in 2012 during season 1 episode 1 entitled  “Winter is Coming” and appeared in 120 episodes unit 2021. On September 1, 2022, Mountain Men came with its eleventh season, and Eustace returned as a regular cast member. The man has never won any kind of award or nomination for his contribution to the reality television world.

Eustace was also the subject of a 2002 Biographical book, The Last American Men. The book explored the story of Eustace and his life as an outdoorsman.

Net Worth:

Even though Eustace chooses to live in nature where career opportunity is limited, his lifestyle as an outdoorsman and a naturalist has become a source of earning for him. Eustace mainly makes his money as a cast of “Mountain Men.” The outdoorsman has a net worth of $250,000.

Personal Life:

Wife &  Kids:

Eustace Conway has shared what is the most convenient for him. He has illustrated how one can leave the modern-day lifestyle and still can be happy living by the nature. However, since the Mountain Men is not accompanied by a woman to share day-to-day hardship everyone wonders if he is married or was married. Unlike Tom Oar who was already married to Nancy Oar who accompanied him to remotes of Montana, Eustace made his journey to the Appalachian Mountains alone. Eustace is not known to have married or conceived kids. Even though Eustace is single for now, we can not totally rule out his past relationship only because he lives an isolated life hardly in touch with many peoples. Only Eustace himself knows about his past affairs and relationship, maybe he likes to keep it that way.

Eustace has a big body build and a stature standing at 5 feet 11 inches (approx).  As a Virgo born, Eustace can be characterized as logical, practical, and systematic according to astrology studies.
