Starting this month, Maui County is shifting to interactive videoconferencing tools Webex or Teams for public meetings and county business.
The county is making the change because the platform it has been using, BlueJeans, is being retired by its provider, Verizon.
Cisco’s Webex or Microsoft’s Teams will be used depending on the meeting type and requirements, the county said in a news release Friday.
Details for public meetings will continue to be published and will contain the information and instructions needed to participate via videoconference, the county said. As the transition is being conducted in phases, the public may see meetings scheduled with BlueJeans or the other platforms through the first quarter of 2024.
